I looked into their faces, but they cut me dead
I tried to talk, but they turned their heads
At first I tried to smile, but it was a fault
’cause it’s hard to smile when there’s no one around

I’ve become a person, whom no one really knows
I bottled up everything & hidden behind my thoughts
The fear of rejection became frightening dream
I built my world and let no one in

As the years have gone by, I tried to change
But sometimes I feel the same
If I think about those times when I felt all alone
Like black cat among superstitious persons

Az arcukba néztem, de átnéztek rajtam.
Beszélni szerettem volna,de elfordították a fejüket
Először mosolyogni próbáltam, de hiba volt
hiszen nehéz úgy mosolyogni, hogy senki nincs is ott

Olyan emberré váltam, akit senki nem ismer igazán
a gondolataim mögé rejtettem mindent, amit magamba fojtottam
a visszautasítástól való félelem egy riasztó álommá vált
Felépítettem a világomat és senkit nem engedtem be.

Ahogy teltek az évek, megpróbáltam megváltozni,
de néha még ma is ugyanazt érzem,
ha azokra az időkre gondolok, amikor teljesen egyedül éreztem magam,
mint egy fekete macska a babonás emberek között

Úgy, mint a ti társadalmatokban…
