A banda 1994-ben, Olaszországban alakult meg és nevét egy északi istenségrõl kölcsönözte. Heimdall az égbolt ura és a Bifrost híd õrzõje,amely a halhatatlanok világát köti össze az istenek birodalmával. Ez az együttes sem túlságosan ismert. Na persze mihez képest, ugye? Ha mondjuk teszem azt rá keresel az Iron Maiden-re akkor nyilván ezernyi kép és találat jön elő. A Heimdall viszont nem túl népszerű ilyen szempontból. Pedig nagyon is megérdemelnék!Eszünkbe juttathatja esetleg a Wintersun-t vagy az Ensiferum-ot. Azonban egyre többszöri hallgatás után teljesen nyilvánvaló hogy badarság bármelyikhez is hasonlítani. Egyedi hangzás,egyedi stílus és a titokzatos Észak.Ez mind a Heimdall.Nekem szerelem volt első hallásra.És nektek?
