Németország az évek során sok klasszikus státuszba emelkedett együttest adott már a világ mûkedvelõ részének. Ezek közé tartozik a Sodom is. A thrash metal születése óta jelen vannak, persze változatlan lelkesedéssel (és változatlanul, a Sodom sem tartozik a folyton megújuló együttesek közé) játsszák idézőjelben egyszerû, ám fogós thrash metaljukat. Ha zenéjük nem is, a tagság sokat változott az évek során, az egyedüli biztos pont Tom Angelripper, a banda lelke. Szövegviláguk egyedi, militarista és utopisztikus elemekkel sûrûn átszõtt. Megkerülhetetlen alapmû a klasszikus thrash metal híveinek.
