Az Eagles a '70-es évek legsikeresebb amerikai country-rock együttese, melyet Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon és Randy Meisner alapított 1971-ben Los Angelesben. Az elsõ igazi elismerést az USA-ban a Take it easy hozta meg számukra. Az igazán jelentõs siker azonban 1976-ban következett be, mikor is megjelent a Hotel California címû album, melybõl rögtön a megjelenés évében kilencmillió fogyott. Ezt követõen azonban nem tudtak igazán újat mutatni rajongóiknak. Így 1980-ban az Eagles felbomlott, a tagok szólókarrierbe kezdtek. 1986-ban Don Henley próbálta újra összefogni az egykori zenekart, ám próbálkozása csupán egy studioalbum és egy turné erejéig volt életképes. Az Eagles igazi újraegyesülése 1994-re tehetõ. Az együttes tagjai 2007 végén, 60 éves korukban visszatérõ albummal jelentkeztek, mely be is váltotta a hozzá fûzött reményeket, hiszen a világ számos táján már platina.
