A Whitesnake egy brit hard rock zenekar, melyet 1977-ben alapított az egykori Deep Purple-énekes David Coverdale.Coverdale jellegzetes blues-rock hangjának, erõs színpadi jelenlétének, és nem utolsó sorban a finom erotikával fûszerezett érzelmes daloknak köszönhetõen a Whitesnake az egész világon több millió lemezt adott el pályafutása során. Legnagyobb sikerüket az 1987 címû albummal, és a rajta szereplõ "Here I Go Again" valamint "Is This Love" dalokkal aratták. A már korábban meghódított Európa és Japán után ezzel a lemezzel az amerikai piacra is sikerült betörniük.Rengeteg neves zenész megfordult a többször feloszlott, majd újjáalakult együttesben az évek során.
