March Of Fire
The sun arose through
the fog of the morning
In the still there was heard
no sound
The city rose as mountain come
forth from the ground
A far off warning through faint
broke the silence
The distant sound of marching
was heard
Invaders from the north
advancing to burn
Oh the fire raged on
Oh it burned far & wide
Now with flames pride was lost
Fire
Tears of the conquered they cried
Ashes now left of castles
And so with valor they died
The people knew as they watched
dust arising
A thousand men marching as one
Their homes would burn before
dark stole the sun
A mother wept as she held her
daughter
A father told his son not to cry
They watched the torch being lit
with hate in their eyes
Oh the fire raged on
Oh it burned far & wide
Now with flames pride was lost
In the wind the blaze
was contagious
While soldier killed those
in way of their task
A city once tall & regal was
ashen & black
A mother wept as she
held her daughter
A father told his son not to cry
They watched the torch being lit
with hate in their eyes |
