As the weekend winds down I mentally prepare
For manic Monday
A million calls to make, a million changes
To get it all in line and not screw up
To chase the new business and keep it growing
To keep those that exist content with results
Yeah and it is ever-changing
Right when you think all is well, all goes to hell
Can’t let the hurdles stop the forward progress
Just loft yourself a little higher and rise above
Yeah-Tuesday it’s down to the wire
Organize and proof till the files are sent off
As the week goes by it’s all on a different level
But equally crazed
Cannot ever rest on your laurels or be content
Or ever be phased
Wednesday brings with it a whole new pressure
A deadline in itself for cover art
Followed by visiting the weekly clients
Delivery of the job-the crucial part
Yeah- Thursday renews the cycle
Once again preparing for next week’s chaos
Deadline
Friday lets me breath a short-lived sigh of gratification
But it is enough
To give me the fortitude and the determination
For when things get rough
The weekend slowly comes into fine focus
Two days of strengthening familial bonds
A shangri-la, my home, my loved ones’ locus
We all have our own individual deadlines
