Krokus egy Heavy / Hard rock zenekar Svájcból. 1974-ben alakultak Solothurn-ben.A banda neve "Krokus" egy dél-európai virágot jelent: sáfrány. 75 tavaszán, az alapító, Chris von Rohr megfigyelte ezeket a virágokat vonatútja közben. Miután félbeszakadt mûvész pályafutása, megalakította Metal zenekarát. A banda tagjai jelezték, ez a tökéletes név a zenekarnak, hisz ezt a "Rock" közepén találták ki.
