A Sargeist szó két német szó kombinációjából létrehozott fantázia név. Jelentése kb. ennyi, hogy Sarg - koporsó (coffin), Geist - lélek (spirit). A nevet a "Rotting Christ - The Old Coffin Spirit" c. száma ihlette.Az együttes Shatraug szóló projectjeként indult.
