Sunn O)))

A kísérleti zenék határmezsgyéjén lehet rálelni az amerikai Sunn O)))-ra. Nevük a Sunn erõsítõk logójából ered. Az erõsítõ neve után található 3 azonos középpontú kör, majd 3 jobb oldali körív. Stephen O'Maley és Greg Anderson hívta életre a "zenekart" és õk az állandó tagjai is, bár az utóbbi idõkben (a 2004-es White2 album óta) Csihar Mester is igen sokat munkálkodik velük. Anderson a Southern Lord kiadó fõnöke, O'Malley pedig festõ/grafikus, a Sunn O)))-n kívül még a Boris, a Khanate és a Scum zenekaroknak készített borítókat, posztereket és egyéb reklám angyagokat.
Nehezen befogadható "zenéjük" a doom metal egy végletekig lelassított, szélsõségesen torz változata (drone doom). Annak érdekében, hogy ne legyen oly egyszerû a kedves hallgató helyzete, dark ambient elemekkel, zajokkal, különbözõ hangokkal is bõven kísérleteznek. Például a Belülrõl pusztít címû dalban légkalapács hallható.
Elõszeretettel hívnak meg vendégzenészeket, szinte minden kiadványt más felállásban rögzítettek, a 2006-os Altar címû albumot pedig a japán Boris zenekarral közösen alkották.
