Frissek és üdék. Egyenesen a skót felföldrõl, akarom mondani vizekrõl. Merthogy a kalózos téma köré épül fel az egész zenéjük folk és power elemekkel. 2004-ben még Battleheart néven alakultak. Az Alestorm nevet 2007-ben vették fel, Õk maguk "igazi skót kalóz-metál"-ként írják le a zenéjüket. Debütáló albumuk 2008 január 25-én jelent meg Captain Morgan's Revenge néven, majd 2009-ben kiadták második lemezüket Black Sails at Midnight címmel. A rajongóknak nem kellett sokat várni a zenekar elsõ klipjére sem, amelyet a Keelhauled számhoz készítettek. 2011-ben adták ki 3. lemezüket Back Through Time címmel, és egy nagyszerû új klippel (Shipwrecked) is meglepték a kalóz metál kedvelõit. 2012-ben ismét elõálltak egy klippel, amelyet a Death Throes of the Terrorsquid számhoz készítettek.
